Raising Awareness

The Lab engages in many activities to help raise awareness for important rights in Albion and around the world.
One way we raise awareness is through the Albion Advocates blog, where students and guests can write on issues they are passionate about.
Another way we raise awareness is through painting the Rock. The Rock on Albion College’s quad has long served as a place for student expression. On December 3rd, 2022, the Lab painted the Rock to support and bring awareness to the protests occurring in China and Iran.
One side of the Rock was white, representing the white pieces of paper protesters in China used to denounce the zero-Covid policy and censorship. The black side had the words “Women Life Freedom” in green-white-red paint, a message used to fight against gender discrimination and the Iranian leadership.
