Youth Climate Activist
Jamie Margolin is a Colombian American student, climate activist, and author of Youth to Power: Your Voice and How to Use it. Margolin argues that the fight for social justice and environmental justice are inseparable. She calls for the climate justice movement to build meaningful coalitions with people on the frontlines of the climate crisis. This means supporting the #BlackLivesMatter movement and making room for people of color, people in the global south, indigenous peoples, poor people, people with disabilities, women, youth, queer and trans people, and people of marginalized faiths. She is co-founder of the youth climate organization Zero Hour which fights for all individuals in all communities to have access to clean air, water and public land and strives to hold adults and elected officials accountable on climate.
